5 Bold Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs. Indianapolis Colts – Week 15
By Chris Schad
Jefferson will have 200 receiving yards
Last week, we put Justin Jefferson on a 140-yard game. It turns out our expectations were way too low.
Jefferson destroyed the Lions’ defense, racking up a franchise-record 223 yards in the loss. That number doesn’t count the long touchdown that got wiped out when the referees thought he stepped out of bounds on a reception in the fourth quarter, and it’s possible Jefferson could have racked up over 250 yards if it weren’t for that error.
The dark horse MVP campaign should continue on Saturday when Jefferson goes up against a banged-up Colts defense. Kenny Moore hasn’t practiced this week due to a lower leg injury, and Brandon Facyson has missed practice due to an illness. Although the Colts have former All-Pro Stefon Gillmore, the rest of the Colts’ secondary is paper thin, giving Jefferson a good matchup anywhere he lines up.
The Vikings’ defense has lacked explosiveness, and throwing it to Jefferson should open things up. If they’re able to do that, Minnesota will be able to get the offense needed to come away with a victory.
