Following Week 15 of the 2022 NFL season, where do the Minnesota Vikings fall in terms of the NFC North and NFC standings?

By earning their 11th win of the 2022 season this past Saturday over the Indianapolis Colts, the Minnesota Vikings clinched their first NFC North title since the 2017 campaign.

Minnesota’s win also keeps them in the running for the top seed in the NFC this year. The Vikings still need the Philadelphia Eagles to basically fall flat on their face during the next few weeks. But with Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts recently sustaining a shoulder injury, the No. 1 seed in the NFC still seems like a possibility for Minnesota.

In order for the Vikings to finish the regular season as the top seed in the NFC, they would need to win each of their final three games, and Philadelphia would also have to lose each of the remaining three matchups on their schedule. It’s a tall task, as FiveThirtyEight still has the Eagles with a 98 percent chance to enter this season’s playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

In their first year with Kevin O’Connell as their head coach, the Vikings have already won their division half as many times as they did during their eight seasons with Mike Zimmer leading the charge.

After holding off the New York Jets this past Sunday, the Detroit Lions are now sitting with a 7-7 record after winning six of their last seven matchups. FiveThirtyEight currently has the Lions with a 40 percent chance to make the playoffs.

Meanwhile, fans of the Green Bay Packers still believe their favorite team can earn a spot in the postseason after beating the powerhouse Los Angeles Rams on Monday night. That’s cute.
