Minnesota Vikings vs. New York Giants early prediction and odds for Week 16

After locking up the NFC North, the attention of the Minnesota Vikings turns to holding onto the No. 2 seed in the NFC when they face the New York Giants.

Following a failed attempt to win the division in Week 14 against the Detroit Lions, the Minnesota Vikings were able to capture the NFC North title last week when they defeated the Indianapolis Colts.

Of course, beating the Colts required the Vikings to come back from a 33-point deficit. But, regardless, Minnesota came away with the victory, and that’s all that matters in the NFL.

This week, the Vikings will be playing inside U.S. Bank Stadium for the final time this regular season against an 8-5-1 New York Giants team that has overachieved this year, but they also only have one win in their last five games.

Minnesota Vikings vs. New York Giants prediction Week 16

It’s odd that Minnesota has basically become the poster child for what people refer to when they talk about the biggest “frauds” in the NFL this season. Especially since the Giants also got off to a hot start this year by winning six of their first seven contests, and since then, they have a 2-3-1 record in their last six games.

New York’s recent struggles shouldn’t make Saturday’s matchup any easier for the Vikings though. Minnesota just had to stage the largest comeback in NFL history to beat a Colts team that only has four wins this season, so New York is essentially a juggernaut compared to the Vikings’ previous opponent.

Saturday’s NFC battle should end up being pretty close, but in front of a deafening crowd, Minnesota should be expected to be the team to leave the field with a win.
