BONUS PREDICTION: Minnesota will have a white helmet in 2023

Let’s talk about the “Winter Whiteout” that’s going down on Saturday afternoon. You may be on the fence about this because of the white end zones that could easily cause a missed call late in the game, but the atmosphere inside U.S. Bank Stadium is going to be electric.

Adding to the fun is the fact the Vikings will wear a white-on-white combination at home for the first time in franchise history, but something seems to be missing. Hence, the addition of a white helmet could be coming as soon as next season.

Purists may throw up over the idea of something other than a purple helmet for the Vikings, but teams have had far worse experiments in the first year where alternate helmets are allowed. With Minnesota’s throwback option just being a simpler version of the traditional Vikings horn, a white helmet could add another element to the Vikings’ uniforms and could make the idea of a “Whiteout” even more fun.
