4 most disappointing Vikings in the Week 16 win over the Giants
By Nik Edlund
Jalen Nailor – WR
Jalen Nailor is a rookie wide receiver who hasn’t seen many snaps at that position with the Vikings this season. He’s basically been just a special teamer this year and a gunner on a unit that has been pretty solid all year.
So his role is to sprint down the field, avoid blocks, and either make the tackle on the returner or down the ball, preferably inside the opponent’s 10-yard line. He had a chance to do just that against the Giants this past Saturday, but he mucked it all up.
Minnesota’s Ryan Wright hit a booming punt, and it looked like New York was definitely going to be pinned inside their own five-yard line, and potentially at the one-yard line.
Nailor was the first man to the football, and all he had to do was field it and not go into the end zone. Instead, Nailor couldn’t handle the gentle bounce, and it went off his hands and into the end zone for a touchback.
It may be unfair to put Nailor on this list for one bad play, but it’s his only job on the team this year, and he failed at it, which is very disappointing.
