The Packers will need to scheme for edge pressure

A major goal in this game for the Minnesota Vikings should be to keep KIrk Cousins clean in the pocket and allow him to let plays develop while receivers work against Green Bay’s defensive backs.

The Packers have 31 sacks on the season, which is good for 23rd in the league at this point. Minnesota has good starting offensive tackles, so expect Green Bay to get creative to get to Cousins.

Of course, the Vikings have other problems. Center Austin Schlottmann and right guard Ed Ingram will need to step up and hold things down in the middle of the offensive line with left guard Ezra Cleveland.

Kirk Cousins has taken a beating this year and still delivered high-quality quarterback play. It’s scary to think what he could be capable of with a little bit of time to survey the field. Hopefully, that gets to happen on Sunday.
