C.J. Ham – FB
C.J. Ham had himself a big day against the Bears by fullback standards. Ham tied his second-most targets in a single game in his career in Chicago, and he paired that with the second-most receptions he’s ever had in a single game with four.
In the previous matchups in which Ham had at least four targets, Minnesota was 0-4. But with Sunday’s win, the Vikings’ record is now 1-4 during these instances.
The thing about Ham’s four-catch, 47-yard stat line is that his plays were actually well-designed, and he looked good in the process.
He averaged over 11 yards per reception, which any team would love to see from any of their offensive weapons. Ham showed sure hands with his catches, and even though he doesn’t have that “make you miss” ability, his size and strength allows him to fight for extra yards at the end of every play.
While it may be a peculiar idea, could the Vikings look to get Ham more involved in the offense moving forward into the playoffs? Because if he is able to consistently get first downs on his catches, most probably wouldn’t complain if he got more looks.
