Josh Metellus has had an impressive 2022 regular season for Minnesota as a reserve safety and a special teams ace.

He had two blocked punts on special teams during the season, and he played pretty well in his limited chances on defense.

Metellus earned himself a captain’s C on his jersey this past Sunday after his great special teams play of late, and he showed everyone why he earned that honor.

Metellus also got the starting nod at safety in Chicago as veteran Harrison Smith was out due to a minor injury. He was targeted five times in pass coverage, and he only allowed one reception that went for -2 yards. In addition, he also had two pass breakups during the win over the Bears.

During the 2022 regular season, Metellus showed that he deserves more playing time on defense in the future, and this past game in Chicago only proved that even more.
