Vikings are favored but underdogs?

The Minnesota Vikings might be the number three seed in the NFC with the New York Giants being number six, but you would never know it by the way many people are picking the G-Men to win on Sunday.

It’s kind of nice that Minnesota doesn’t have the massive expectation to dominate the Giants. They can approach this game hungry to prove many “experts” and “analysts” wrong in their picks this week.

This season already feels like a bit of a bonus for the Vikings since they have a brand new coaching staff, front office, and schemes. A playoff win would be a nice feather in the cap for Kevin O’Connell in his rookie year as a head coach.

It is pretty typical for the Minnesota Vikings not to get any respect. Much of that is because KIrk Cousins doesn’t get much respect at all as a quarterback. If the purple and gold win, the media will say nothing, if the Giants win, the headlines will be all about the “frauds” in Minnesota.
