Danielle Hunter – OLB

Danielle Hunter once again had himself a solid game this past weekend, and he had himself an underappreciated 2022 season.

Ed Donatell’s system is what truly held Hunter back from thriving more in 2022, as the star edge rusher found himself dropping into coverage far too many times during the season, and once again on Sunday.

Hunter totaled five pressures and one sack in the Vikings Wild Card matchup, a respectable stat line. The biggest issue for Minnesota was that they couldn’t contain Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, who led both teams in rushing.

Hunter was able to get pressure along the edge, but Jones continuously slipped up the middle for big gains. The Vikings failed to find an answer for Jones on all fronts, but Hunter was giving it his all.

His star teammate opposite him, Za’Darius Smith, had another quiet game, and many are wondering if this was the last we’ve seen of Smith in Minnesota.
