Minnesota Vikings receiver Adam Thielen recently said that he’s rooting for his former teammate, Buffalo Bills receiver Stefon Diggs, to win the Super Bowl.
Adam Thielen and the Minnesota Vikings might be done with their 2022 season after losing to the New York Giants last weekend, but the veteran receiver will still be cheering on his former teammate, Stefon Diggs, and the Buffalo Bills as they attempt to win their first-ever Super Bowl.
As he was participating in the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions golf event on Friday, Thielen was asked to pick which teams he thinks will make this season’s Super Bowl.
He ultimately went with the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs as his two choices. However, Thielen also added that he “hopes Buffalo wins for ,” so that his former teammate can get “a ring.”
Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs were a dynamic combo for the Minnesota Vikings
Before Diggs was traded to the Bills during the 2020 offseason, he and Thielen formed one of the top wide receiver duos in the entire NFL during their time together.
Diggs and Thielen spent five seasons together with the Vikings, and their combined talent played a large role in the success of Minnesota during the 2017 campaign when the team won 13 games and made it all the way to the NFC Championship.
In 2018, the Vikings didn’t have as much overall success, but Diggs and Thielen had arguably their best season together. Both receivers caught nine touchdown passes in addition to finishing with over 100 catches and 1,000 receiving yards.
In their team history, the 2018 season is still the only time Minnesota has ever had two players haul in at least 100 catches each. Not even Randy Moss and Cris Carter were able to accomplish that feat during their time together with the Vikings.
