Green Bay Packers

If Adam Thielen really wanted to embrace his inner “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan circa 1996 in WCW, he could cross the state border and suit up in a Packers green and gold jersey in 2023.

Thielen would get to remain in the NFC North and he would get to face his former team twice during the 2023 season. We’ve seen plenty of players spend time with both the Vikings and Packers in their careers, but Thielen joining Green Bay would rank among the most notable.

Aside from the revenge factor, the Packers will likely have a need for a veteran wide receiver next season, with Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb both hitting free agency this year.

Whether Aaron Rodgers sticks around for another season or Jordan Love is finally given the opportunity to start, Thielen could be a solid addition to their roster.

Now, since Green Bay’s projected to currently be more than $16 million over the salary cap in 2023, they likely wouldn’t be making a trade for Thielen, as they probably won’t be able to afford his current cap hit in 2023. So if the longtime Minnesota receiver is going to end up with the Packers this offseason, he’ll likely have to be released first.
