Chicago Bears

Speaking of teams that could afford to make a trade for Adam Thielen, the Bears have plenty of extra assets that could be used to acquire the veteran receiver this offseason.

Chicago is currently projected to have over $90 million in cap space this year (the most in the NFL), and at this moment, they have eight selections in the 2023 NFL Draft.

While the Bears will probably be looking to add a bunch of young talent to their roster, acquiring someone who has extensive experience in the NFC North like Thielen could prove to be valuable too.

Adding a proven veteran receiver would also be good for the development of Chicago quarterback Justin Fields, who struggled at times in 2022 with some of his throwing decisions.

And if you don’t think the Vikings wouldn’t trade Thielen to a team within their own division, then you haven’t paid attention to what Minnesota general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has done during his short tenure with the team so far.

In less than a year, Adofo-Mensah has already made three notable trades with another team from the NFC North. So sending Thielen to the Bears isn’t something that feels off-limits for the Vikings general manager.
