Austin Schlottmann, offensive line

The offensive line will be an essential discussion topic when free agency and the 2023 NFL Draft rolls around. Last offseason, the Vikings signed center and guard Austin Schlottmann to be a backup for the middle of the offensive line.

Starter Garrett Bradbury and Schlottmann are both hitting free agency and that will leave Minnesota looking for a starter for the upcoming season. The Vikings have limited cap and draft assets, making that a challenge.

Don’t be surprised if one of those two is re-signed to provide a floor for what to expect from the center of the offensive line in 2023. It will likely be the less expensive of the two since neither would be a comfortable starter.

Decent offensive linemen don’t stay in free agency for long. Expect a few teams to show interest in Austin Schlotttman in free agency despite making less than $1M ilast season. If nothing else, conpetition will be needed on the offensive line.
