Duke Shelley, cornerback

One of the most fun stories of the 2022 season for the Minnesota Vikings was the signing and play of cornerback Duke Shelley. At only 26 years old, he could have a long career ahead of him in the NFL.

Duke Shelley had some great splash plays in key moments, including pass breakups and tackles when the game was on the line, impressing fans as well as the coaching staff of the Minnesota Vikings.

Shelley worked his way into the starting lineup for five games and defended eight passes including getting his first career interception against his former team, the Chicago Bears and he should be a hot commodity this offseason.

Only having a one year with a $965,000 contract last season, Shelley could be in line for a substantial raise and a lot of interest from teams in free agency from teams looking for a quality backup corner or fringe starter.
