Grading the Minnesota Vikings 2022 rookie class after year one
By Nik Edlund
Fifth-Round Pick No. 2
Ty Chandler – RB
Rookie Stats:
- 3 games played
- 6 rush yds
Ty Chandler was a bit of a surprise pick as the Vikings already seemed set at running back and the position was picked clean by the time they took him.
Chandler had a nice preseason showing soft hands and a dynamic burst. By the time the season rolled around, he was buried on the depth chart as expected and spent most of his rookie year playing special teams.
He did miss some time with an injury and his impact on the team could come in 2023.
Production Score: 0.25/1
Sixth-Round Pick No. 1
Vederian Lowe – OT
Rookie Stats:
- 5 games played
Vederian Lowe was chosen in the 6th round and spent the majority of the season on the practice squad. That wasn’t a surprise, as he was always seen as a bit of a project.
He spent most of his games playing special teams but did get to rack up 33 snaps in the meaningless game against the Bears. He looked pretty decent in those snaps, giving the Vikings hope he can be a primary backup at tackle next season.
Production Score: 0.25/0
