5 quarterbacks the Vikings should consider trading for in 2023

Bailey Zappe
It appeared as if Mac Jones would find a way to sneak on this list, but after the New England Patriots selected him in the first round of the 2021 draft and hired Bill O’Brien as offensive coordinator, it appears the Patriots want to try to make it work in Foxborough.
When it comes to Bailey Zappe, however, he could be available for the taking.
Zappe appeared in four games for the Patriots last season and threw for 781 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions. More impressively, Zappe completed 70.7 percent of his passes and racked up 309 yards and two touchdowns in a start against the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 16.
This could be just a hot start from a young quarterback, but Zappe’s college career suggests there could be more. In his lone season as a starter at Western Kentucky, Zappe threw for 5,967 yards and an NCAA-record 62 touchdowns before being selected in the fourth round in last year’s draft.
Zappe doesn’t have the mobility that some of his counterparts have, but he has enough of an arm to be a worthy project for the Vikings.
