One of the most notable Minnesota Vikings rumors at the moment has them as a possible landing spot for legendary quarterback Tom Brady in 2023.

There have been some wild Minnesota Vikings rumors over the years, but a recent one involving free-agent quarterback Tom Brady might be one of the craziest to pop up in a while.

According to the NFL Analysis Network’s Kenneth Teape, an anonymous former NFL executive believes the Vikings could be a “dark horse” team that could sign Brady in free agency this year. Below is what the former league executive told the NFL Analysis.

"“I know the Raiders and Dolphins are the two most talked about [to sign Brady]. The 49ers are another possible destination, but they have Brock Purdy now. Watch out for the Vikings. Replacing Kirk Cousins with Brady would make them an actual legitimate threat to win the Super Bowl.”"

Vikings Rumors: What are the chances of Minnesota signing Tom Brady in 2023?

At this point, this is nothing more than an example of class offseason speculation. There has been nothing from the recent past to indicate that Minnesota has even a sliver of a chance to sign Brady this year.

At the same time, there is a connection between the Vikings and the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback, as current Minnesota head coach Kevin O’Connell was a teammate of Brady’s back when the two were both members of the New England Patriots in 2008.

Would that old connection and the opportunity to play indoors 11 times (eight home games and three on the road) in 2023 be enough to convince Brady to sign with the Vikings this offseason?

At the age of 45, the veteran quarterback appeared in all 17 regular season games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the 2022 campaign, completing 66.9 percent of his passes for 4,694 yards, 25 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.
