Kenny McIntosh – RB (Georgia)

Running back isn’t a need for the Vikings at the moment but it soon could be, so the Vikings need to do their homework on the backs available at the Senior and East-West Shrine Bowl. A guy who will be in attendance this week at the Senior Bowl is National Champion, Kenny McIntosh.

McIntosh is a big back who actually looks more like a wide receiver. He’s sneaky fast with a sudden acceleration through the hole. McIntosh is a natural pass catcher and can make guys miss in the open field. Just a season ago, he hauled in 43 balls for 504 yards.

He does need to become a better pass blocker, but that is something that can be coached up and worked on in the preseason. While he is sneaky fast, he isn’t a burner by any means and that’s fine because Minnesota already has those on the roster.

If the Vikings do move on from Dalvin Cook, and Alexander Mattison tests the free-agent waters as expected, McIntosh would make a lot of sense as a Day 3 option.

He would form a dangerous three-headed monster with Kene Nwangwu and Ty Chandler, giving Minnesota three guys who can be dangerous both on the ground and through the air.
