DeMarvion Overshown – LB (Texas)

Linebacker is a pretty big need for the Vikings this offseason. Eric Kendricks has begun to slow down, and while Jordan Hicks may have accumulated a lot of tackles, he was very bad in coverage. Two new starters will be needed and one of them could be this Longhorn.

DeMarvion Overshown first and foremost, sticks out because of his size. He’s 6-foot-4 and 224 pounds. That is one big linebacker and one who won’t have any issues matching up with tight ends who come over the middle. Overshown has great speed as well, accelerating to the ball carrier quickly and then laying a big hit.

With his size and athletic ability, he can be used in a variety of ways and could fit in pretty much any defensive scheme. He started his collegiate career as a safety but was moved to linebacker and has since excelled.

While Overshown has plenty of positive traits, he does tend to miss some tackles and some scouts want to see him add a little more weight to his frame. Despite those minor issues, he’d be a nice compliment to Brian Asamoah in the middle, giving the Vikings a young, dynamic duo at linebacker.
