Jake Moody – K (Michigan)

Kicker is a need for the Vikings that really isn’t getting much attention. Many seem to just assume that the Vikings will resign Greg Joseph at some point this offseason, maybe late in the process to save as much money as possible.

After seeing Jake Moody’s performance in the 2023 East-West Shrine Bowl, maybe Minnesota is better off taking one in the sixth round or so.

Moody was on fire in this game. He scored all the points for the West team, hitting field goals from 51 yards twice, and 35 yards twice, with room to spare on the long doggers. He kicked with confidence and displayed a big leg that should have gotten the Vikings’ attention.

Moody was fairly accurate in his career as a Wolverine. He made 82.1 percent of his field goals and never missed an extra point. The latter part of that has to be very attractive to any Vikings fan. His career long is 59 yards, so again his leg is basically a cannon.

Moody definitely made a name for himself at the East-West Shrine Bowl and the practices. Any team that is even remotely looking for a kicker had to be very impressed with what they saw and bumped him up a round or so.
