Tyjae Spears – RB (Tulane)

The Vikings could make some noise at running back this off-season. Alexander Mattison is an unrestricted free agent who could be looking for a bigger role with a new team, and Dalvin Cook could get cut or traded for cap reasons.

If that happens, they are in good hands with Kene Nwangwu and Ty Chandler but will look to add one more rusher to the mix. The guy whose stock is going up after the Senior Bowl is Tulane’s, Tyjae Spears.

Spears was one of the best-looking backs down in Mobile. He was impressive in drills and had that juke on a defender that was shown all over NFL Network and pretty much any social media feed that has anything to do with the draft.

He’s not the biggest back out there, but he’s an elite receiver out of the backfield. He showed his soft hands during the game by hauling in three passes for 15 yards. Spears while not being big, does finish runs hard and runs with more power than one would expect.

He looked extremely good all week and has to be shooting up the Vikings’ running back wish list after taking part in the Senior Bowl.
