Adam Thielen, wide receiver

It’s hard to know what went wrong for Adam Thielen in 2022. He had a huge opportunity to be the team’s clear WR2 but didn’t look like the second option for Kirk Cousins as the season progressed for the Minnesota Vikings.

Thielen had double-digit touchdowns in 2020 and 2021 but only managed six scores in 2022.He had 70 catches for 716 yards But he had six or fewer targets in the team’s last four games, with many looks going Hockenson’s way.

Maybe Thielen is still struggling with his previous back injury or it could also be possible that his career is dropping off because of age. but he disappeared in several games where he likely would have been a huge asset in the past.

A huge cap hit and the decreased production have his future with the Minnesota Vikings up in the air. It would be strange to see this team without Adam Thielen on offense, but that is starting to look like a real possibility for 2023 and beyond.
