Brian Flores lists 3 young Vikings players he’s fired up to help develop
Now that Brian Flores is the new defensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings, he is ready to hit the ground running with the NFC North powerhouse. Flores couldn’t be more excited to get to work with Minnesota and head coach Kevin O’Connell.
Matter of fact, Flores can’t wait to also help some of the young guys on this team take the next step in their careers. In a recent interview, Flores was asked about which players on defense he’s ready to try and help develop.
While he said he’s excited to work with everyone on the roster, he did mention Lewis Cine, Andrew Booth Jr. and Brian Asamoah as three playmakers in particular he’s got his eye on.

All three of these players have a ton of potential for the Vikings. Starting with Cine, the safety was ready to make a splash in 2022, but a serious leg injury resulted in him only appearing in three games. You know he’s focused on bouncing back and getting himself back to 100 percent as soon as possible.
With Booth, injuries also prevented him from fully being able to showcase his best stuff last fall. The rookie cornerback only appeared in six games this past season. He has high hopes for ’23. As for Asamoah, the linebacker played in 16 games, posting 17 total tackles during his debut campaign.
All three of these guys just wrapped up their first season with Minnesota and are ready to see what they can bring for this squad in Year 2. Fortunately for this trio, they’ll get back on the practice field later this year knowing that Flores has full belief in them.
Their rookie seasons may have not fully gone according to plan, but that doesn’t mean these three don’t have high expectations for next year and beyond while playing for the Vikes. Flores will be ready to bring out the best in each of these players, plus all the other guys he’ll be working with.
