4 trade targets that would make the Vikings Super Bowl contenders in 2023
By Luke Parrish
Jalen Ramsey – CB (Los Angeles Rams)
2022 Stats:
- 4 INT
- 18 pass breakups
- 88 tackles
This would be an absolute swing for the fences and making the money work would be a difficult task for the Vikings but they need to be aggressive. Jalen Ramsey has been one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL for a long time and with the Rams looking to recoup some draft picks, he could be on the move.
Ramsey had a down year in 2022 by his own standards and that resulted in a career-high in interceptions, PBUs, and tackles. He moved around the defense a bit more last season to show off his versatility but the simple fact is the Vikings need a lockdown defender.
If the Rams want to move on from Ramsey, Kevin O’Connell has seen first-hand what he is capable of providing. This would not be a cheap acquisition by any means but if the Vikings want to be taken seriously on defense, they have to get more star power on that side of the ball.
While this is probably the most unrealistic option out there for the Vikings given their cap situation and the cost of trading for a player like Ramsey, it would also be the most helpful move of this group.
