Eric Rowe
2022 Team: Miami Dolphins
One player that makes a ton of sense for the Vikings is Eric Rowe. Rowe spent the past four seasons in Miami and played under Brian Flores from 2016 to 2021 in some capacity. With Flores taking the job in Minnesota, there is reason to believe he can bring some of his former players with him.
While Flores was the head coach in Miami, Rowe had his most productive seasons by a wide margin. Between 2019-2020, Rowe started 29 of 32 games and tallied 19 pass breakups, three interceptions, and a forced fumble to go along with his 172 total tackles.
Minnesota needs more guys that can mix up looks and create problems for offenses. Rowe has shown the ability to play all over the defense and line up in the slot at times to provide a bigger defender near the line of scrimmage.
Adding him to the defense would also allow Flores to get creative with Harrison Smith and Lewis Cine in blitz packages while filling a need in the slot while they sort out their cornerback situation. Eric Rowe makes plenty of sense for the Vikings heading into the new league year.
He offers veteran leadership and an understanding of the incoming scheme while proving that he is a fit already. Of all possibilities on the market, Rowe is the best option.
