How will the Minnesota Vikings address their biggest need heading into the NFL’s free agency period?

The Minnesota Vikings have plenty of issues to sort out this offseason, but their biggest task may be what they’re going to do at cornerback.

Patrick Peterson, Duke Shelley, and Chandon Sullivan are all set to become free agents, while Andrew Booth Jr. and Akayleb Evans are question marks due to injuries. With only four picks in the 2023 NFL Draft and the unlikeliness of finding the next Sauce Gardner in that pick, the most effective way to solve the problem is to sign a cornerback in free agency.

The Vikings’ priority should be to target young players that are entering their second contract. But with Minnesota sitting roughly $24 million over the salary cap, the Vikings will have to target a mix of younger players and veterans that could provide a stopgap.

In this article, we’ll list seven realistic targets the Vikings could have entering free agency and why these players could help solve Brian Flores’s biggest challenge coming to Minnesota.
