2022 Team: Las Vegas Raiders

It’s rarely a wise investment to sign a cornerback that was traded before his rookie contract is up, but in the case of Rock Ya-Sin, he was able to breathe life into his career after he was traded to the Raiders last offseason.

After being selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round of the 2019 draft, Ya-Sin had a solid rookie season before struggling in 2020. Ya-Sin briefly rebounded in 2021 before being traded to the Raiders, where he posted an overall PFF grade of 65.7 and had five pass breakups last season. Ya-Sin performed well in man coverage, allowing a 51.3 passer rating and four pass breakups in 146 snaps.

One of the keys to Ya-Sin’s resurgence was a role in Patrick Graham’s man-heavy scheme, and that could translate to Minnesota with another Bill Belichick disciple in Flores. Set to turn 27 this summer, Ya-Sin has some tread on the tires, but with a projected cost of $9 million per season, the Vikings could spend their money in worse ways.
