Greg Joseph – K

Kickers are a sore subject when it comes to the Vikings. Minnesota has been burned too many times by kickers in the past, so it’s hard for fans to feel any sort of optimism about the position, even if the team’s kicker is actually in the middle of an impressive season.

Speaking of impressive, one could use this word to describe Minnesota kicker Greg Joseph in the clutch last season, as he converted five game-winning field goals in 2022. However, that’s about where the impressiveness of Joseph ended last season.

With the Vikings in 2022, he missed a total of 13 kicks (seven field goals and six extra points), his field-goal percentage ranked 29th in the NFL, and his extra-point conversion rate ranked 31st.

Minnesota would be doing themselves a disservice if they brought Joseph back to be their kicker for the 2023 season. He’s been with the Vikings for two years and neither of his seasons were overly impressive.

Joseph created some exciting moments for Minnesota in 2022, but the team needs to find a kicker that is much more reliable for the 2023 campaign.
