The Minnesota Vikings reportedly held a “formal meeting” with former Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine.

With their chances pretty low of landing any of the top-three quarterbacks in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings have reportedly met with a passing prospect that they could actually wind up with this year in former Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson.

On a recent episode of SKOR North’s “Mackey & Judd”, KSTP’s Darren Wolfson revealed that the Vikings held a formal meeting with Richardson this week while attending the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine.

Richardson currently has the fourth-highest rating from ESPN among the quarterbacks in this year’s draft pool, and he has the 36th-best rating overall.

In addition to revealing that Minnesota met with Richardson at the Combine, Wolfson also shared that Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell is “a fan” of former Kentucky quarterback Will Levis as “he is the kind of quarterback that likes.”

Levis is the third-highest-rated quarterback by ESPN in this year’s draft pool and some believe he is a lock to be selected at some point during the first 10 picks in the 2023 draft.

Minnesota might not be looking to draft a young signal-caller this year that can immediately replace Kirk Cousins in 2023. But the Vikings have certainly begun the process of finding a quarterback who can eventually take Cousins’ job in the starting lineup.
