Former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Cam Sutton was recently predicted to sign with the Minnesota Vikings during free agency in 2023.

In less than two weeks. The start of the 2023 free agency period is set to begin for the Minnesota Vikings and the rest of the NFL. With the Vikings hiring Brian Flores to be their new defensive coordinator this year, some have wondered if some of the players from his former team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, will land with Minnesota this offseason.

Well, this is exactly what PFF’s Arjun Menon and Brad Spielberger envision happening as they recently predicted former Steelers cornerback Cam Sutton to sign with the Vikings in free agency this year.

Sutton has been in the NFL since 2017, and he has the versatility to line up on the outside or in the slot. In 2022, he received the 28th-best defensive grade from PFF out of 118 qualifying cornerbacks.

Two top Minnesota Vikings defenders predicted to leave during free agency in 2023

This offseason, the Vikings have a number of notable players from their 2022 roster that are set to become free agents, including cornerback Patrick Peterson and defensive lineman Dalvin Tomlinson.

When it comes to Peterson and Tomlinson, Menon and Spielberger predicted these two veteran defenders to leave Minnesota for another team this year.

For Peterson, they have him agreeing to a contract with the Cincinnati Bengals to chase a championship, and for Tomlinson, they have him signing a deal with former Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski and the Cleveland Browns.

Given the lack of cap space Minnesota currently has, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if both Peterson and Tomlinson wound up with different teams this offseason. Unfortunately, the Vikings just aren’t going to have enough money to re-sign all of the guys they would like to bring back in free agency this year.

Even if Peterson and Tomlinson don’t return in 2023, adding a talented corner like Sutton in free agency would definitely be a satisfying consolation prize.
