Julius Brents – CB (Kansas State)

Julius Brents is one of the largest cornerbacks in the 2023 NFL Draft. While he has that intimidating size, his workout was better than guys who are much smaller than him.

Brents ran a blazing 4.53 forty-yard dash, had a vertical that was 41.5″, broad jumped 11’6″, which was top in the cornerback group, and his 3-cone time of 6.63 seconds was also tops. Brents was also the fastest in the 20-yard shuttle, and he did all this standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 198 pounds.

That workout was definitely not expected and got the attention of every single team in attendance. Add this athletic performance to the tape that shows what a physical hitter he is, and suddenly the arrow is pointing way up on Brents.

The Vikings are in the cornerback market and even met with Brents at the Combine. The only concern is that pick No. 23 is too early to take him, and with the team not having a second-round pick, they wouldn’t get a shot at him until the third round. Brents will be long gone at that point.

While him landing with the Vikings looks like a long shot, there’s no question he made himself some money this weekend.
