Jordan Addison – WR (USC)

Jordan Addison was in contention to be the first wide receiver taken this April, but after his weigh-in and performance at the Combine, that looks like a long shot.

Addison’s first red flag was when he was measured. He came in a little shorter than expected, standing 5-foot-11. His weight was also down to the 173-pound range, and his wingspan was 31 inches, with hands that came in just under the preferred size of 9 inches.

That size is a little concerning, but what was worse was his time in the forty despite his smaller stature. Addison clocked in at 4.49, which put him about 20th in the wide receiver category, running a slower time than some receivers with a much bigger frame.

To make matters worse, Addison cut his workout short with some lower back tightness, and now teams will be checking that to see if he’s 100 percent by draft day. Addison does have loads of very good game tape and plays much faster than his time would indicate, so there’s that.

About a month ago, the Vikings would’ve been thrilled to see Addison available at pick 23. Now it seems like a given he’ll be there, but taking him that early now seems a bit questionable.
