What players did the Minnesota Vikings add and say goodbye to on the unofficial first day of the NFL’s 2023 free agency period?

It has already been an eventful offseason for the Minnesota Vikings, but things got even more intriguing on Monday when the team participated in the first unofficial day of the NFL’s 2023 free agency period.

Starting at 11 a.m. central time on Monday, every team around the NFL was allowed to “contact,  and enter into contract negotiations with, the certified agents of players who will become unrestricted free agents upon the expiration of their 2022 player contracts at 4:00 p.m., New York time, on March 15,” according to the NFL’s official football operations website.

Once teams were able to begin negotiations on Monday, it didn’t take long for the offers to start pouring in. Now, none of the reported agreements around the league can become official until 3 p.m. central time on Wednesday, so things could still potentially change until the ink dries on the actual contracts.

When it came to the Vikings on Monday, they were able to come to a couple of agreements with a pair of new players that should be able to help them in 2023. However, Minnesota also saw four of their defensive starters from Week 1 of the 2022 season end up with new teams on Monday.

So on the first unofficial day of the NFL’s 2023 free agency period, which players did Minnesota add, which players did they part with, and what are some of the most interesting Vikings-related rumors heading into Day 2?
