The biggest piece of Minnesota Vikings news on Sunday featured the team’s former receiver Adam Thielen signing with the Carolina Panthers.
As the NFL is getting ready to head into their second week of free agency, some Minnesota Vikings news dropped on Sunday when it was revealed that the team’s former wide receiver Adam Thielen has agreed to a contract with the Carolina Panthers.
Vikings News: Adam Thielen adds experience to young Carolina Panthers
While some thought Thielen might go chasing after a Super Bowl ring with a team like the Kansas City Chiefs or Buffalo Bills, he’ll be leading a group of young Panthers receivers next season instead.
Thielen, who will turn 33 in August, joins a Carolina wide receiver room that doesn’t include a player over the age of 27. The Panthers will be hoping that his experience in the NFL will help some of their young pass-catchers further their development in 2023.
For Thielen, we now know that he will be taking the field next season in a different uniform for the first time since he entered the league with Minnesota in 2013.
The former Vikings receiver will likely get the chance to prove himself to his old team in 2023, as Carolina is scheduled to host Minnesota for a matchup next season. Whenever the date for that contest is officially announced, it seems safe to say that Thielen will have it circled on his calendar.
