Jared Allen – DE

Jared Allen‘s name is synonymous with the Vikings, regardless of looking at the list of other teams he’s played for. But if you do, you’ll notice that for someone who is known as a Minnesota Vikings legend and Minnesota Vikings legend alone, he played for a number of other teams around the league.

Allen was traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Vikings in 2008, and when Minnesota informed Allen they would not re-sign him in 2014, the defensive end joined the NFC North rival Chicago Bears.

However, his stint in Chicago didn’t go according to plan, and Allen was shipped to the Panthers in the middle of the 2015 season.

While his stint in Carolina was short, Allen was able to reach his first Super Bowl in 2015, where the Panthers lost to the Denver Broncos by a final score of 24-10. Allen retired shortly after the game, and he then signed a one-day contract to retire as a member of the Vikings.

As mentioned, Allen will always be known as a former Minnesota player, and a Vikings legend at that. But his stint in Carolina may echo what Adam Thielen’s career could be when all is said and done. A Vikings legend, who played their yesteryears in the Queen City.

But Allen and Thielen are not the only Vikings fan favorites who had their try in Carolina as well.
