Linval Joseph, defensive tackle

When thinking of a big sturdy defensive tackle, a player with the build of Linval Joseph likely comes to mind. He spent six seasons with the Minnesota Vikings after winning Super Bowl XLVI with the New York Giants.

Joseph made the Pro Bowl twice, in 2016 and 2017 with Minnesota but joined the Chargers before the 2020 NFL season. He made his way to the Philadelphia Eagles for eight games last season but is now a free agent.

The big man has seen his role decrease in each of his last three seasons and now is likely seen as a backup or rotational defensive tackle. With his size and technique, he can take up a lot of space in the trenches.

Some of his struggles in finding a new team may be that teams are looking at younger options than the 34-year-old defender. He might remain unsigned until after the draft when teams know their needs better and are looking to fill out their rosters.
