Chris Claiborne – LB (2003)

Heading into the 2003 offseason, Chris Claiborne was believed to be one of the top players that was going to be available in free agency.

So when the Vikings convinced Claiborne to sign with them in 2003, much of the team’s fan base reacted with a ton of excitement. However, that excitement about the linebacker turned out to be short-lived.

In a Minnesota uniform, Claiborne put up semi-decent numbers, with 80 total tackles and three sacks in 2003, and 57 tackles and one sack in 2004. But after accumulating more than 100 tackles in each of the three seasons before he signed with the Vikings, the 2003 and 2004 campaigns were certainly a step back for him.

Claiborne’s time with the Vikings only lasted for two years, and after his two years in the Twin Cities, the veteran linebacker went on to spend his final two years in the NFL as a member of both the St. Louis Rams and New York Giants.
