4 new players in the NFC North who could be a problem for the Vikings
By Nik Edlund
WR DJ Moore
Everyone knew the Bears would be trading the first pick in the NFL Draft. They did it prior to the start of free agency and got quite the haul. Part of that deal was their acquiring wide receiver DJ Moore, who is one of the better and more underrated wide receivers in the entire NFL.
Moore has good size at 6’0 and 4.4 speed that he can use to take the top off a defense. His career numbers are impressive as he’s hauled in 364 balls in his career for 5,201 yards and 21 touchdowns. Moore has also proven to be versatile running the ball 39 times in his career for 335 yards.
Obviously, the big issue that will determine Moore’s success with the Bears will be if Justin Fields can get the ball to him consistently. That is a concern as Fields is widely erratic with his accuracy. Moore is used to having subpar play at the quarterback position though, as he’s recently had a contingent of Kyle Allen, Teddy Bridgewater, Sam Darnold, PJ Walker, and Baker Mayfield throwing him the ball. Despite the lack of quarterback consistency, Moore has been able to produce and put up numbers worthy of being a number-one receiver.
The Vikings’ secondary was an issue a season ago. They were torched early and often, and if Moore and Fields can form a rapport, they could become a deadly combination for the Vikings’ defensive backfield.
