LB Tremaine Edmunds

Tremaine Edmunds was another name linked to the Vikings early in the offseason, but those rumors proved to be false as he signed with the division rival, Chicago Bears.

Edmunds is a heck of a player and one who will immediately improve this beleaguered Bears’ defense. He’s extremely versatile and can play the middle in a traditional 4-3 scheme, but also has the ability to blitz off the edge. If the Bears utilize him properly, he’ll have a major impact for them in 2023 and beyond.

Edmunds has been a tackling machine in his career, not having a season where he’s accumulated less than one hundred. He had 32 tackles for a loss in his five seasons in Buffalo with six and a half sacks and five interceptions.  That kind of playmaker is what this Bears’ defense needs to get back to respectability.

The Bears are still probably a season away from being a serious threat in the NFC North, but Tremaine Edmunds is the type of defender who can make big plays, and there’s a very high chance some of those come against the Vikings.
