Kris Boyd – CB

New Team: Arizona Cardinals

In 2022, Kris Boyd provided value for the Vikings with his snaps on special teams. Of course, Boyd had to make the most of his opportunities on special teams because he wasn’t being given any snaps with the defense.

Even with as much as Minnesota’s pass defense struggled last season (31st in the NFL), Boyd only finished with a grand total of 37 defensive snaps.

It’s no real surprise that the Vikings didn’t want Boyd on the field with their defense in 2022. In four seasons in the NFL, the veteran cornerback has allowed his coverage to catch 76.5 percent of their targets, and opposing quarterbacks have a 127.1 rating when throwing in his direction, according to PFF.

So even though he was able to develop into a solid piece of Minnesota’s special teams, his struggles on defense were enough for the team to let him sign elsewhere this year.
