The Minnesota Vikings need to improve their defensive line during the 2023 NFL Draft. Here are seven defensive line prospects the Vikings could take.
The 2023 NFL Draft is less than two weeks away. The Minnesota Vikings have some needs they need to fill on both sides of the ball. As the draft gets closer, there’s momentum is picking up that the team could use the 23rd pick to add a wide receiver or maybe even a quarterback on offense. Defensively, cornerback has been a popular position mocked to the team by even the most renowned and popular analysts.
Those are definitely needs the team has to address, but another big one that isn’t getting nearly enough attention is the defensive line. This is arguably the one position on the team that is devoid of high-end talent. They do have some solid players in Harrison Phillips and Dean Lowry, but the Vikings don’t have a bonafide star anywhere on their depth chart when it comes to the interior.
The depth is also sketchy as it is made up of some journeyman veterans and some younger players who haven’t yet realized their potential. Improving this position can have a positive trickle-down effect on the entire defense. Getting more pressure up front will help out the young cornerbacks, and adding some more beef that can plug up running lanes, will benefit the Vikings’ linebacking corps.
So upgrading the defensive line early in this draft would almost be like killing two birds with one stone. With all that in mind, here are seven defensive linemen the Minnesota Vikings could choose in the 2023 NFL Draft.
