If the Minnesota Vikings aren’t able to address the interior of their defensive line early in the draft, then on Day 3 they should hope that Jaquelin Roy is still on the board. Roy is a battle-tested member of the SEC and is a guy who has flown under the radar the entire 2023 draft season.

Roy is a gritty competitor who fights every single snap. He is relentless in his battle against blockers and is in constant pursuit of the ball carrier. He’s got a powerful upper body that he uses to get off blocks and has surprising lateral quickness for a man with his frame.

He’s a little too light in the lower body to consistently anchor, so his role would be as an end in the Vikings‘ defensive front. He also only had one season as a starter at LSU, so he could use a bit more seasoning.

Roy seems like a player who is just starting to reach his potential and he truly has the chance to develop into a hidden gem from this draft class, developing into a solid starter in a couple of seasons.
