Measurements:

Height: 6’2″  | Weight: 332 lbs

2022 Stats:

  • 29 tackles
  • 4 tackles for a loss
  • 2.5 sacks

Quite a few prospects on this list provide end/nose flexibility but that’s not Coburn. This big old beast of a man is strictly going to be a nose tackle in the NFL and that’s just fine. The Minnesota Vikings could actually use another quality nose as Harrison Phillips is only under contract for two more seasons, and Khyiris Tonga is still a bit of an unknown, although he’s coming off a solid 2022 season.

Coburn has the size and frame to clog running lanes and devour blockers. That’s always going to be the strength of his game. While that may be his bread and butter, he does have a very effective bull rush and can power right through blockers creating interior pressure.

He did rack up 6.5 sacks in his career as a Longhorn, so he isn’t just a one-trick pony like some other pure nose tackles in this class.

Coburn had a very good performance at the East-West Shrine Bowl and also had a solid Combine. He’s often projected to be a late-round pick, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see his name called much earlier than that. If the Minnesota Vikings want to add a young nose tackle prospect in this draft, Coburn makes a ton of sense and could develop into a very solid player.
