We already know who the Minnesota Vikings are going to face during the 2025 season. But we likely won’t know when and where they will play each opponent until April.

Typically, the layout of an NFL team's schedule is arguably more important than who a team does and does not play.

With Minnesota coming off a 14-win season in 2024 that resulted in Kevin O’Connell winning the NFL Coach of the Year award, expect them to get more national exposure during the 2025 campaign.

Yes, it's still very early in the offseason, but let’s take a shot and see if we can correctly predict the layout of the Vikings' 2025 regular-season schedule and what their final record might potentially be.

Minnesota Vikings Schedule: Predicting the layout of Minnesota's 2025 schedule

Week 1

Home vs. Detroit Lions (SNF) | 7:20 p.m. CT

Vikings start the season off with a primetime game at home against the Lions. Minnesota and Detroit games have become must-see TV and the two best NFC North teams squaring off to open the "Sunday Night Football" season is a no-brainer.

Prediction: Vikings win (1-0)

Week 2

Away at New York Giants | 12 p.m. CT

This past season the Vikings opened against the Giants on the road. For 2025, Minnesota will wait an extra week to take on either Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders and the New York “Football” Giants.

Prediction: Vikings win (2-0)

Week 3

Home vs. Washington Commanders | 12 p.m. CT

Vikings get their first crack at the 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year; Jayden Daniels, in a potential “America’s Game of the Week” on FOX. But for now, we'll just keep it at a noon kickoff time.

Prediction: Vikings lose (2-1)

Week 4

Away at Pittsburgh Steelers (TNF) | 7:15 p.m. CT

A battle between two historic franchises from the AFC North and NFC North. This has the feel of a matchup that needs to be played in primetime.

Prediction: Vikings win (3-1)

Week 5

Away at Seattle Seahawks | 3:05 p.m. CT

The Vikings traveled to Seattle late in the 2024 season and got a win there for the first time since 2006. This time around, the league will send Minnesota out to the Pacific Northwest during the early part of its 2025 schedule.

Prediction: Vikings win (4-1)

Week 6

Home vs. Chicago Bears | 12 p.m. CT

The first matchup between the Vikings and Bears of the 2025 season will feature two of the best offensive minds in the game in Kevin O’Connell and new Chicago head coach Ben Johnson.

Prediction: Vikings lose (4-2)

Week 7

Home vs. Cincinnati Bengals | 12 p.m. CT

Justin Jefferson and the Vikings welcome 2024 Triple Crown winner Ja'Marr Chase and 2024 Comeback Player of the Year winner Joe Burrow to U.S. Bank Stadium for the first time since the former LSU receiver and quarterback entered the NFL.

Prediction: Vikings lose (4-3)

Week 8

Away at Dallas Cowboys | 12 p.m. CT

The decision by the Cowboys to hire Brian Schottenheimer as their new head coach wasn't a great one. It just seems like Dallas owner Jerry Jones doesn't care about winning. Rumors about the Cowboys trading players like All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons are worrisome, so don't be surprised if Dallas is drafting around the top-10 once again in 2026.

Prediction: Vikings win (5-3)

Week 9

Home vs. Atlanta Falcons | 12 p.m. CT

This matchup could potentially feature the eighth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Michael Penix Jr., going up against the quarterback who was selected two picks later, J.J. McCarthy, in a game that both teams hope to be the first of many battles between the two.

Prediction: Vikings win (6-3)

Week 10

Away at Green Bay Packers | 12 p.m. CT

Lately, the bitter divisional rivalry between the Vikings and Packers always seems to be good for at least one 12 p.m. showdown per season.

Prediction: Vikings lose (6-4)

Week 11

BYE

Week 12

Away at Los Angeles Chargers | 3:25 p.m. CT

Atfer a late bye week, Minnesota travels to Los Angeles for a Sunday afternoon showdown against Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers.

Prediction: Vikings win (7-4)

Week 13

Home vs. Philadelphia Eagles | 12 p.m. CT

The Vikings will get a shot at home to go against the defending World Champions and this contest against the Eagles could be a game that determines if Kevin O’Connell’s team is for real or not in 2025.

Prediction: Vikings lose (7-5)

Week 14

Away at Cleveland Browns | 12 p.m. CT

Could this end up being another Kirk Cousins revenge game against Minnesota? In a perfect world, the Vikings will be in a position to clinch a playoff spot this week.

Prediction: Vikings win (8-5)

Week 15

Home vs. Baltimore Ravens | 12 p.m. CT

Heading into the 2025 season, the Ravens will likely enter as one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl. A game against the reigning AFC North champs this late in the season could be a good measuring stick for how serious this Minnesota team is.

Prediction: Vikings lose (8-6)

Week 16

Away at Detroit Lions | 12 p.m. CT

The first of three straight division games. Following a season-opening showdown, this matchup between the Vikings and Lions could potentially be flexed to a 3:25 p.m. slot depending on the status of both teams in the NFC North.

Prediction: Vikings lose (8-7)

Week 17

Away at Chicago Bears (MNF) | 7:15 p.m. CT

Every season, it seems like Minnesota and Chicago play on "Monday Night Football", and the 2025 season will be no different.

Prediction: Vikings win (9-7)

Week 18

Home vs. Green Bay Packers | 12 p.m. CT

In the final game of the regular season, the Vikings will host the Packers in a matchup that will have potential playoff seeding on the line. Will McCarthy be able to do something Sam Darnold couldn’t in Week 18 of the 2024 season or the playoffs and show up in a big game for Minnesota?

Prediction: Vikings win (10-7)

Overview

It's looking like the Vikings are going to have one of the toughest schedules in the NFL in 2025. However, coming off a 14-win season with Darnold as the team's starting quarterback; there’s no reason to believe Minnesota won’t be capable of winning at least 10 or 11 games in the 2025 campaign.
