Now that the 2025 NFL Combine has ended, focus shifts to the NFL Draft. With a limited number of picks available, the Minnesota Vikings need to hit on their picks to improve their roster for the upcoming season.

Heading into the draft, the Vikings own the rights to three picks but are expected to earn a compensatory pick in Round 3 for their losses last season. That means Minnesota will have four opportunities to select future contributors for their roster.

Minnesota has some needs on their roster. Cornerback, running back, and linemen could help this team contend for the NFC North crown next season, but which prospects should the Vikings pick at the draft?

2025 NFL 7-round post-combine Minnesota Vikings mock draft

Here is how the seven rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft could look for the Minnesota Vikings.

Round 1 - (No. 24 overall):
Jahdae Barron, CB (Texas)

Even if the Vikings re-sign Byron Murphy Jr. this offseason, they will need more talent at the position. If they fail to bring him back, they will need a high-potential starter in the secondary to eventually become a starter.

Texas cornerback Jahdae Brown opened eyes at the combine. The five-foot-eleven, 194-pound corner won the 2024 Jim Thorpe award for being the top defensive back in college football. He deserved that honor for defending 11 passes, getting five interceptions, and accumulating 67 combined tackles in 16 games.

Brown projects to be a high-end nickel cornerback in the NFL. His production in college and excellent combine performance make him an appealing addition to Brian Flores' defense in Minnesota.

Round 3 - Compensatory pick:
Cameron Skattebo, RB (Arizona)

Aaron Jones is hitting free agency and the Vikings don't have much on the roster in terms of running backs. Even if they can re-sign Jones, Minnesota will need some depth at the position to keep the run game fresh and prepare for the future.

Cameron Skattebo dropped jaws at the combine. His athleticism tested off the charts while his production in 2024 should dismiss any questions about his NFL potential. In his final year at Arizona, the five-foot-eleven, 215-pound running back ran the ball for 1,711 yards and 21 touchdowns on 293 carries.

He is currently part of a lawsuit stemming from a golf cart accident in 2023 that injured a teammate, but that shouldn't significantly impact his draft potential.

Round 5 - No. 139 overall:
Elijah Roberts, DL (SMU)

Getting better in the trenches needs to be a goal for the Minnesota Vikings this offseason. Getting another big man to compete for a spot on the defensive line would be wise, especially a player with a proven ability to contribute.

SMU defensive end Elijah Roberts is no stranger to a 3-4 defense but his skill set does not translate to being an edge rusher in the NFL. Despite that, he still racked up 7.5 sacks during his final year of college while forcing two fumbles.

At six-foot-four and 285-pounds, Roberts would fit in well as a defensive end in Minnesota's defense. His lack of production before coming to SMU is a bit concerning, but that's likely one of the only reasons he might be available in Round 5.

Round 5 - No. 161 overall:
Miles Frazier, G (LSU)

Guard play has been questionable for the Vikings for a few seasons. Minnesota isn't likely to find a Day 1 starter in Round 5 but they can get a player to draft and develop into a lineman to compete for a contributing role.

Miles Frazier started 54 games at left guard, right guard, and right tackle in college At six-foot-six and 317-pounds, he surprised analysts with his athleticism at the combine, likely ensuring he will have his name called at the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Minnesota Vikings need to do something after a disappointing year from Blake Brandel and Ed Ingram being benched. Strong play from the defensive tackles is sometimes overpowered from struggles by the interior, meaning adding a proven contributor like Frazier could be a huge benefit to the unit.
