Every offseason, multiple members of the Minnesota Vikings part with the franchise, and some are lucky enough to land with new teams and continue their careers in the NFL.
For some of these former Vikings, they are able to find success in a different uniform. However, there are always several former members of Minnesota's roster who struggle to produce at the level they did when they wore a purple and gold jersey every week.
This season was no different, as a number of former Vikings players failed to perform at even an average level for their new teams.
Former Minnesota Vikings players who failed with their new teams in the 2024 season
Kirk Cousins - QB (Atlanta Falcons)
After landing yet another lucrative multi-year contract from the Falcons in the offseason, things really couldn't have gone any worse for Kirk Cousins during his first year with Atlanta.
Cousins and the Falcons got off to a good start in 2024, but his play each week wound up trending in the wrong direction as the season went along, and he was eventually benched by the team in Week 16.
K.J. Osborn - WR (New England Patriots and Washington Commanders)
Following three productive seasons with the Vikings, K.J. Osborn wound up signing a deal with the Patriots during the 2024 offseason with the hope of earning a role that would come with more opportunities than he ever had in Minnesota.
Unfortunately, Osborn never really found a fit in New England's offense, and after only catching seven passes for 57 yards and one touchdown in seven appearances, the Patriots waived him and he wound up getting claimed by the Commaders.
Dalvin Cook - RB (Dallas Cowboys)
In 2023, Dalvin Cook's first year away from the Vikings went pretty poorly as a member of both the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens, and this season, things didn't get any better for the former Minnesota running back.
Cook signed with the Cowboys right before the start of the regular season, but he didn't end up appearing in a game for them until Week 8. During the entire 2024 campaign, the veteran running back touched the football nine times for a total of 30 yards in two appearances for Dallas.
