The schedules for the upcoming 2026 NFL season have been released, and Minnesota Vikings fans have been able to take a look at when their favorite team will face off against their opponents and where those games will take place.
Like fans, Vikings players also have an opportunity to look at the upcoming slate of games to find ones that are of interest. While some players aren't very vocal about their preferences, others have no problem sharing their thoughts.
There are many games on the upcoming schedule for the purple and gold that are interesting to fans, but there are only a handful that can get players fired up. One of the team's running backs shared his opinion recently.
Fans shouldn't be surprised by Aaron Jones' favorite game on the 2026 Minnesota Vikings schedule.
It would be easy to think that Minnesota Vikings running back has the games against the Green Bay Packers circled on his schedule. That would make sense since it is his former team, and he has previously discussed a desire to have a big game against them. Not to mention that they face off at U.S. Bank Stadium in the team's season opener.
In a video shared on the official YouTube video of the Vikings, Jones was asked about the upcoming schedule, and the running back pointed to Minnesota's Week 11 game against the San Francisco 49ers in Mexico City.
“I keep a sombrero in my locker, one in my car, and one at home. I also have a poncho on my chair. Mexican culture has been a huge part of my upbringing since moving to El Paso, along with the culture there as well.
Aaron Jones might have been born in Georgia and moved around a lot, but he played his high school football in El Paso and his college ball at UTEP. While there, he embraced the culture of his neighbors to the south.
“I know I have a lot of love there, and the love is mutual right back at them. That’s part of why I wear the stuff I do. I’m already planning to walk into the game wearing a purple-and-gold mariachi suit.”
Seeing Aaron Jones decked out in a purple and gold mariachi suit won't be a surprise, but it will still be an amazing sight for Minnesota Vikings fans. It is just a shame that fans will need to wait until Week 11 to see it happen.
