Adrian Peterson is apparently in hot water again, as USA Today's Brent Schrotenboer shared on Thursday that arrest warrants have been issued in Texas for the former Minnesota Vikings running back after recently failing to appear in court for multiple child support cases.

Following the news, Peterson's publicist, Denise White, released a statement that claims the arrest warrants are just the result of a misunderstanding.

“The current legal case is related to a misunderstanding regarding Adrian’s court appearances as it relates to child support, and he is actively working with his legal team to resolve this matter as quickly as possible. He is committed to clearing up this situation and moving forward positively.”

Former Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson quietly issued a fine in October for an assault incident in May

In addition to the news about the arrest warrants recently being issued for the former Minnesota running back, Schrotenboer also revealed that Peterson was apparently fined $500 this past October after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor assault charge that came about after an incident in May in which he was accused of "slapping a woman from behind" in Texas.

Unfortunately, Peterson's name has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons during the last handful of years.

Back in September, a judge ordered the former Vikings running back to turn over multiple assets to pay towards a debt of his that exceeds $12 million. In February 2022, Peterson was arrested at the Los Angeles International Airport following a domestic violence incident with his wife, but the charges were later dropped by police.

Of course, there was the incident in 2014 when he was indicted by a grand jury in Texas on charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child for beating his four-year-old son repeatedly with a switch (tree branch). That ultimately resulted in Peterson only appearing in one game for the Vikings during the 2014 season.

Peterson last appeared in an NFL game in Week 13 of the 2021 season as a member of the Seattle Seahawks. He holds multiple Minnesota franchise rushing records, and he currently ranks fifth on the NFL's all-time career rushing yards list.
