Belief in the Vikings is exploding (and it’s not just from fans)

After finishing the 2024 regular season with 14 wins, one would think the Minnesota Vikings would have a little more optimism surrounding them heading into the 2025 campaign. However, most oddsmakers currently have the Vikings' win total set at 8.5 for the upcoming season.

If that win total seemed low for Minnesota fans, plenty of people outside of the fan base have made it clear during the last few months that they also believe the team's 2025 win total is much lower than it probably should be.

According to a recent post on X from BetMGM's John Ewing, no team in the NFL has been bet on more this year to make the playoffs in the 2025 season than the Vikings. Ewing shared that Minnesota's odds to make the 2025 postseason opened at +130, and with there being so many bets placed on them to make the playoffs in the last few months, those odds have now shifted to -115.

Minnesota Vikings creating believers before the 2025 season even begins

It's not hard to understand why so many people have decided to wager money on the Vikings making the playoffs in the upcoming season.

Following the 2024 campaign in which they won 14 games, Minnesota spent the offseason using a significant amount of resources to improve their offensive and defensive lines, they added a top-tier offensive guard in the NFL Draft, and the majority of their top players and coaches are returning for the 2025 season.

On the other side, it's very easy to understand why oddsmakers originally had their doubts about the Vikings for 2025.

Minnesota plays in arguably the toughest division in the NFL, and they're planning to enter the 2025 season with J.J. McCarthy as the team's top quarterback, despite the fact that he's never started an NFL game in his pro career.

But when one takes a few steps back and realizes that the Vikings are the home of the reigning NFL Coach of the Year in Kevin O'Connell, their offense is packed full of playmakers, and Brian Flores is back to make the defense even more lethal, the team has more than enough talent to make McCarthy's job as easy as possible in 2025.

Bettors have clearly recognized this, so how much longer is it going to take for everyone else outside of the Minnesota fan base to realize this as well?
